Celebrating 20 Years of Groundcover Landscaping!

As we celebrate two decades of transforming outdoor spaces in the beautiful Waikato region, we at Groundcover Landscaping want to take a moment to reflect on our journey and express our heartfelt gratitude to our amazing clients, dedicated team, fantastic suppliers and contractors, and supportive friends & family.

A Journey of Passion and Growth

Back in 2004, Michelle and Graeme, both born and raised in the Waikato, embarked on an exciting adventure with a shared passion for landscaping and a vision to create stunning, sustainable gardens. What started as a small one-man band has blossomed into a trusted name in the industry, with a team of 20 dedicated professionals, thanks to our unwavering commitment to quality and customer satisfaction

Our staff bring us so much pride and are the lifeblood of our success.  We have enjoyed their journeys, some from as young as 19, into the great men and women that they are today.  We watched them start relationships (and end some!), move out of home, buy houses, become parents and grandparents, buy their first pets and all the other little things that make them great people.

Milestones and Memories

Over the years, we've had the privilege of working on countless projects, each one unique and special. From cozy backyard retreats to sprawling estate gardens, our team has poured creativity, expertise, and love into every landscaping project. Here are a few highlights from our journey:

  • 2004:     A one-man band – just Graeme, his Ute and a passion for working with plants and numbers
  • 2008:     Employed Paul (who is still with us today) - a skilled landscaper who had a shared dedication to excellence
  • 2013:      Michelle joined the company with a vision and passion for making Groundcover Landscaping the business it is now
  • 2015:     The first of a team that would then rapidly grow was hired.  Luke remains an integral part of our team and has grown with the company into his current role as Foreman
  • 2016:     The next step was moving the business out of home and into our current premises that we fondly know as Groundcover Landscaping Global HQ in Grasslands Place
  • 2018:     Took the leap into hiring a dedicated Project Manager and added more landscapers, which enabled Graeme to come off the tools and dedicate more of his time to growing the business and focusing on each client from the start of their journey with us
  • 2020:     By now we had increased the office roles with an Estimator and Office Manager, allowing a greater focus on systems, processes, marketing and seamless client experience from go to whoa.  We overcame challenges brought on by the global pandemic and continued to thrive, thanks to the resilience and support of our staff and community
  • 2023:     Launched our popular garden maintenance service when we purchased Waikato Garden Care, making it easier for homeowners to enjoy beautiful, hassle-free gardens and marking Groundcover Landscaping as a leading one-stop-shop for landscaping in the Waikato
  • 2024:     Celebrating 20 incredible years of growth, innovation, and happy clients!
Looking Ahead

As we celebrate this milestone, we're more excited than ever about the future. We're committed to staying at the forefront of landscaping trends, embracing new technologies, and continuing to provide top-notch services to our clients. Our goal remains the same: to grow great landscapers and gardeners who create outdoor spaces that transform landscapes and lifestyles for our clients.

Thank You!

None of this would have been possible without the trust and support of our clients. To all of you who have been part of our journey, thankyou from the bottom of our hearts. Your satisfaction and happiness are what drive us to keep doing what we love.

Here's to many more years of creating stunning landscapes together! 🌸🌳

Warmest regards,

Michelle, Graeme, and the Groundcover Landscaping Team
