The Designer Series: Voila Landscape Design
We present to you part 3 of 4 in “The Designer Series” where we are showcasing not three, like we originally said, but four talented landscape designers that we work very closely with; their work and their passion for what they do.
Paying for a landscape design is a great investment and gives our clients a perfect place to start. It also makes our quoting process a lot faster.
We are pleased to introduce you to Colette Pitu from Voila Landscape Design, and we are excited to add her to our list of recommended landscape designers.
Colette is based in Hamilton and works in the Waikato/Waipa areas. Colette says her clients tend to be young(ish) families who have recently bought a house and are renovating it or are building a new house on a small lifestyle block. She also has “empty nesters” who now have more time to focus on their garden but need help to get started and determine the best layout and planting for their style and their property.
Voila Landscape Design was started at the end of 2019 when Colette graduated with her Diploma of Landscape Design. While her business was getting off the ground she gained valuable experience working for Line & Design in Cambridge. Colette says she enjoys the mix of practicality and creativity necessary to create great designs and encouraging people to spend more time outside by creating bespoke and welcoming landscapes.
Colette’s passion for people started in her home country of France, working in hotels. After moving to NZ she discovered a passion for the outdoors, nature and plants and by combining these passions she is fast building a successful landscape design business, helping her clients have a great experience in their own backyards.
Along with being mindful of sustainability in her designs, Colette believes being a good listener is essential. She gets to know her clients – how they do, and want to, use their outdoor space; what’s their style and lifestyle, the garden of their dreams … she takes it all in. She looks at the specifics of the site and comes up with a creative design that will suit them perfectly, while ensuring it is both practical & beautiful.
